| | | | | | | | | | | 11/3/2007: Zymm goes to Las Vegas | (Published by Keith Tuomi) | I was invited by the very distinguished Picture Agency Council of America (PACA) to speak in a panel about the future of the stock photo industry. The PACA is a 40 years old organization of picture professionals that meet twice a years to discuss matters related to photography and all business related to it.
I had the pleasure of answering questions from some pretty important image buyers who were curious about Zymmetrical and its new approach on pricing. No professional photo editor wants to use microstock images because they fear it will kill the pros and thus leave them with a poor choice to purchase from.
However, they like the idea of the midstock since anyone can pick their own price, leaving the competition work at a quality level, not pricing
Other photo agencies present were interested in the high-end technology solution we have implemented in the background thanks to the genius of Keith and wanted to know more. Unfortunately, there are some things we cannot share with them.
Bryan from Lucky O. was also present, on another panel but we never had the chance to meet up. There was too many meetings and other panels to attend. It was nice to see that next to photo agencies that have been around for 20 years and plus, we are welcomed and considered as top of the line innovators. It is also very rewarding to see professional image buyers from ad agencies telling you that they like what you do.
There were so many meetings, lunches and panel discussions, I didn't even had a chance to gamble. | | |
