List here all the free fonts websites you know! I only use one actually, and I'm very pleased with it. www.dafont.com |

My favorite by far is www.1001freefonts.com. I've downloaded a ton of fonts from them. You don't really have to register, and if you don't mind minimal advertisements.. its not a bad place.
You see your regular fonts, but they have a really nice section with about 150 or so fonts that are very unique. I downloaded one of my favorite fonts there which is "Floydian". Yes.. big Pink Floyd fan here

These are both good sites for acquiring more than the basics. |

I usually use Dafont to get the fonts for my website banners and works. But sometimes when there's a huge list of fonts to choose from it gets to be a bit of a headache to browse through them all. So every now and then I look around for font packs from art communities. MavidoArt released their font pack for 2007 fairly recently. Should check it out: http://www.mavidoart.com/index.php?showtopic=475 |

Aside from the non-working rating and preview function, what do you guys think about the new Free Fonts area on Zymmetrical?
I think the snazziest part is it uses our standard interface, so the system doesn't reload the whole page, when you click the arrow to go to the next page.
In terms of numbers, I think we are clocking about 1500 more fonts than DaFont.
We'd really like some input on this fonts area. We want to build the best place to download fonts on the net, period.

the free font area is very good here !!! With 8 pages it's still ok to view them all. But if you have plans to make it bigger, categories are maybe a good idea? For example: "wingdings" "grunge" "handwrited" etc. |

I hate wingdings! They have no point, and always just get in the road, taking up space. Why would anyone create them in the first place. Handwriting fonts are very handy though... |

yeah... wingdings are not handy anymore. But many years ago it wasn't possible to add pictures to your text on the computer, and with wingdings you still had a few pictures. But I think everyone will prefer a real photo instead of a wingding next to the text!
But I only mentioned wingdings to explain my idea of categories. |

I visited the links given by people in relative to the font creator and I am fully satisfied with that softwares. The site www.1001freefonts.com is very popular than the previous site www.dafont.com, 1001freefonts.com is recommended by most of the people. If any of you is not satisfied with these two sites then go for this ink.

start your search for anything new with the search engines, not necessarily google, there are many like ask.com, which will give you excellent results and different than google. I think we have a great collection Zymmetrical itself and that should be your first search place. |

How about www.1000fonts.com ?
I used to have a list of free font sites, but I misplaced it... Though I suppose you can find dozens of sites just by googling 'free fonts'.

I use both sites, dafont.com and 1001freefonts.com. I find both of them helpful especially when it comes to my powerpoint presentations I prepare for my lectures. Students can get bored with the conventional fonts at times.
