What do you guys think of digital scrapbooking? This getting to be a very widespread hobby. It can be used for business as well. And some people use it as an alternative to actual scrapbooking.

Well for me personally it's a new concept. I googled a bit on it and got some dirt about what digital scrapbooking is but i'm still not 100% on the concept: photoblogging with graphic design elements thrown in?

It's not really photoblogging. At least it's not the way I see it. I have been scrapbooking for a while and I have run out of space to keep my scrapbooks. With digital scrapbooking, storage is easier because I can keep my pages in CD's or flash drives. |

I have learned to do a lot of things digitally over the 14 years I've been online... but I just can't get into digital scrapbooking. I don't trust what I save to be readable in 20 years like my "regular" scrapbooks will be. Case in point... VHS movies. We used to think they're the greatest thing to be invented and now it's hard to find a player to watch them. What if it starts happening to our computer files? (Actually it's already happening to some of the older things.) |

Sometimes, I copy my actual scrapbooks digitally because I'm afraid a disaster might ruin them. Flood, fire and the like. I thought that way at first too. But I also came to the idea that though computer storing can become out of date eventually, they will always come up with ways to replace what was done before. VHS movies can be transferred into DVD's. Floppy disks have been replaced with CD's and flash drives. Being an innovative people, we will surely come up with a way to convert these into whatever new invention they will come up with. |

Hi, gale! Nice to see that you're here, too! We've met in the craftingforums, remember? Oh, Gale here is an expert in digital scrapbooking and she makes some very interesting concepts! I've seen some samples of her work and she's good. Keep it up, gale! |

It is a hit on our country. I remember watching one episode of a show that features this but sadly they didn’t show how to make one. If I know how to make this then I will be on the business too. |

I have never heard of digital scrapbooking but then, I have never made a scrapbook of any kind before. How would you go about making a digital scrapbook?

I've tried it, but I still prefer regular old fashioned scrap booking. It gives me a chance to just relax, and have a little fun with it. Also, it gives me a chance to spend some time with my daughter. I let her design a lot of the pages. (she's 3) With a digital scrapbook it just isn't the same. I'm also scared that in 10 years or so, I'm not going to be able to see them anymore. What if something happens? Regular scrapbooks are more fun, and can provide hours of entertainment when you look through them years later to remember everything. |

I dont think it exemplifies the artistic effect of traditional scrapbooking. A digital scrapbook feels so forced and fake. Its much funner to flip the pages of a real scrapbook. |

I believe that it works well as a gift on those wedding parties because in my country. Most weddings have this on a cd ready to be sent to those love ones. I have known this because one of my cousins had this when she got married. |

I think I will look into digital scrapbooking and compare with what I do know of traditional scrapbooking. My daughter has been after me to make one for her.

I have talked to my friend about this "Digital Scrapbooking", she had been doing it for years even gets paid to do sometimes. The first word out of her me=mouth was w.... WHAT is Digital Scrapbooking? If your talking about printing out images then cut and pasting them or are you talking about doing it all digitally? |
